Analysis of slender piers reinforced with FRP bars

Abstract

The analysis of slender piers reinforced with eccentrically stressed FRP bars is presented. The use of procedure for determining internal forces within a deformed system, used for steel reinforcement, is proposed. At that for the bending moment increase, the reduction factor is used and the modified expression is applied for flexural stiffness calculation. An algorithm for the analysis of short piers is presented. Results for the example presented in the paper are compared with those obtained on the project described in paper [7].
