Simulation of heat flow in concrete

Dunja Mikulić, Bojan Milovanović, Ivan Gabrijel

Abstract

The methodology and methods used in estimating temperature field in mass concrete are presented. Theoretical background for the Schmidt numerical method and the finite element method are given, and the way in which input parameters are defined is shown. The case study, involving variation of influence parameters from materials, concreting requirements and concreting technology, was conducted so that the construction technology can be optimised by reducing the heat-induced cracking hazard.
