New regulations in the field of concrete structures

Jovo Beslać, Franjo Blagus, Vladimir Marinić

Abstract

The effects of the adoption of European standards on Croatian construction regulations, especially in the field of concrete structures, are discussed in the paper. It is emphasized that the adjustment of our standards to European ones is an unavoidable need and a duty of the present-day generation. At the same time, it is the basic prerequisite for the adherence to the European Union. Novelties to be introduced into our practice, especially in relation to motorway structures, are presented. The author cautions that new more stringent criteria should be applied without delay.
