Testing pressure resistance of polyvinylchloride drainage pipes

Mijo Zagorec

Abstract

It is emphasized in the paper that mechanical properties of pipes made of polyvinylchloride, polyethylene and polypropylene differ from those of traditional rigid drainage pipes. Triple laboratory testing of resistance of rigid polyvinylchloride drainage pipes to the pressure applied from above was conducted in order to determine which constant and fluctuating vertical pressures these pipes can withstand at a specified level of deformation, and to what extent the material compacted around the pipe participates in the transfer of this load.
