Plastic static analysis of rectangular slab supported along three sides

Abstract

The rectangular slab hinged along three sides and freely supported along the forth one is analyzed by kinematic method of plastic static analysis. The slab is subjected to load applied uniformly along the entire surface, to load concentrated in an arbitrary spot, and to a combination of uniformly distributed load and an arbitrary number of concentrated forces. Simple patterns, suitable for practical use, are derived. Two numerical examples show in which way can this procedure be used in practice.
