Pile testing at the Dubrovnik passenger port construction site

Abstract

The pile testing was conducted for piles realized in the rock mass in the Port of Gruž. It is emphasized that these tests are realized quite seldom, principally due to the high cost of such testing. Geological and geotechnical survey results are presented A survey of preliminary tests, with all factors relevant for estimating quality of realized piles, is presented. Results of this pile testing operation, which involved longitudinal and transverse loading of test piles, are presented and analyzed.
