Determining deflection of concrete girders strengthened with fibre reinforced polymers

Tomislav Kišiček, Zorislav Sorić, Josip Galić

Abstract

The design model for determining deflection of concrete girders strengthened with fibre reinforced polymers (FRP) is described. The model is based on the determination of curvature of individual cross sections along the girder subjected to bending load. The influence of adhesion and slip on the deflection analysis results, with an increase in bending load, is analyzed. The design model is suitable for realistic adhesion/slip diagrams (experimentally defined by a standard testing procedure), and also for idealized diagrams.
